PS 349 is a magnet elementary school located in District 28 in Queens, NY, teaching students in Pre-K through 5th grade. PS 349 opened its doors to students in Pre-K and Kindergarten in September 2015. We have since grown to include a new grade each year, serving a diverse population of over 600 students.  In 2021, we will celebrate our first graduating 5th grade class.

Students' voices are valued and they have a say in their own learning. Students participate in collaborative work and academic discourse on a daily basis across all grade levels. A Magnet education offers students a wide range of collaborative learning opportunities with themed instruction centered around Leadership and STEAM. Students have rigorous learning opportunities though a wide range of classes and residencies to support inquiry and exploration while learning though various modalities, such as presentations, prototyping, and play.

Life-Long Learning

We challenge ourselves to continue our own professional growth and we strive to instill a love of learning in our students.

We excel in all that we do as a collaborative team and we encourage our students to learn collaboratively with their peers.

We establish clear goals, measure progress, and take responsibility for results and we teach our students to become responsible, self-motivated monitors of their own learning.

We appreciate, respect, and learn from diverse cultures and we teach our students to do the same.

Mission & Vision

At PS 349 we work to cultivate the future leaders of the world for the 21st century and beyond through STEAM. In collaboration with all members of our diverse community, we address the needs of the whole child, through rigorous academics and project-based learning.  The magnet curriculum allows students to think critically, communicate effectively, and solve real-world problems. We believe that students thrive in a nurturing environment of trust, safety, and security to grow both emotionally and academically.

PS 349 is a school of excellence where children can achieve their full leadership potential in academics, creativity and moral development, thus becoming lifelong learners prepared for the 21st century and beyond.
