Maria Psimadas, Assistant Principal
Maria Psimadas is the Assistant Principal of The Magnet School for Leadership and Innovation through STEAM. This is her third year as Assistant Principal at P.S. 349.
She began teaching in 1997 and taught for twenty years in Brooklyn. She taught third grade for 5 years, and fourth grade for seven years. She then became an AIS teacher working with small groups of students, a literacy teacher, an instructional coach, and a data specialist. She earned a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Baruch College in 1996, a Master's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages in 1999 from The College of New Rochelle, and an Advanced Post Graduate Degree from Stonybrook University in Educational Leadership in 2016. She has also taught English to adults in Greece. Her favorite part about PS 349 is watching our students learn to be independent thinkers and leaders!
